About this game
Word Wipe fuses match-puzzle satisfaction with a real dictionary. Chain orthogonally touching tiles into a word — four-letter finds and longer — and the whole chain detonates, the columns cave in and fresh letters rain from the top. Clear again within three seconds to multiply the combo, and every clear buys two more seconds on a clock capped at two minutes. A shuffle button on cooldown saves you from a dead board. It starts as a word game and ends as an avalanche you are skiing.
How to play
Tap touching tiles one by one to build a chain — tap the last tile again to submit the word, or use back to undo. Valid words explode, the board collapses and refills, and every clear adds two seconds. Shuffle reshuffles the board on a twenty second cooldown.
Tips & Tricks
- Longer words pay per letter and per combo — one big clear beats three small ones.
- Keep a chain in mind while the previous combo cools — the three second window is generous.
- Vowel-rich corners of the board are word factories — mine them first.
- Save shuffle for a board with no vowels in sight — not just a bad feeling.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a valid word in Word Wipe?
Tiles must touch horizontally or vertically, in order, and spell a word of four letters or more from the built-in dictionary. Each word can only be scored once per run.
How does the combo work in Word Wipe?
Clearing again within three seconds of your last clear doubles, then triples the multiplier, and so on. Wait too long and it resets to one. Every clear also adds two seconds, up to the two minute cap.
